Hopefully we can use it to fight the spam posts we get every day. It'd be great if inside the Moderation tag, we could see a "semaphore-like" indicator next to every new post to moderate. Based on the subject, account age, amount of published posts in the last 24 hours, etc.

I tend to have the same feelings, but I'm afraid it's a lost battle (well I think there isn't even a battle at all) - AI isn't going away and we need to "deal" with it, whether we like it or not ... I'm afraid it's just a matter of "adapt or perish", and rather than resisting it tooth and nail it's probably better to embrace the good (useful) aspects of AI, while still making an effort to combat the negative sides ...
Yes and no. Yes, let´s embrace the positive aspects and keep learning. On the other hand, let's not waste too much time exploring the depths of a volatile trend. Because "artificial intelligence", in its current, form will be obsoleted by something else and people will get tired of the buzzword, just like few people are advertising Web3 and blockchain anymore. But one thing that generative LLM-based AI already changed is the task of content creation.
I don't want to waste my efforts crafting a valuable post and publish it for free, when I know it will be scraped by machines to help other people write their clickbait posts, like 25 things every dev must know about AI, basically remixing stolen content that others have taken time and effort to research, experiment and make up their own minds. Let them output more AI slop, let future AI generations get trained on the sloppy slop and eventually get stuck in an echo chamber of their outdated content. I'd rather spend more face-to-face time with real people at real events, workshops, and customer projects, write less, and focus publishing on my website or maybe write a paid newsletter. I'm sorry for DEV, StackOverflow, and many other free community platforms, but maybe more people will revive their own blogs and websites and find ways to escape the (not) inevitable future of omnipresent AI slop.
Okay, so you're talking about using AI for content creation - I was rather thinking about the impact of AI on developers' work, i.e. writing code - maybe you're right about content creation, but when you say:

then I highly doubt that that will be the case for coding (writing code) - I expect (fear?) that it's here to stay, and will become ever more pervasive, whether we like it or not ... I'm afraid we won't really have a choice.
P.S. full disclosure - I'm not even using AI for coding myself yet - but if I'd be fresh out of college I'd probably feel "forced" to start learning and using it, or else soon I'd probably be surpassed left and right by people who DO use it ... that's the point I'm afraid - I think we won't really have a choice - adapt or perish ...
I'll just pop in to say that we completely understand the sentiment here and don't ask that you be on board.
I will note that this partnership has nothing to do with training data, or anything of deep integration. We're working with devrel principally for education and support on making use of the tools. I don't think that's necessarily sufficient for the overall concerns here, but I wanted to note them.
Through much consideration we feel that we have to educate and integrate this important new technology. And we'd stand by that as a part of helping as many people in their careers given the evolution — but it is a complicated topic to say the least and we appreciate that this perspective is represented in the comments here.

Lets hope the tool itself gets improved upon. I had a beta trial of it and it really isn't ready for mainstream deployment, it chokes on even basic applications. Sadly the AI hype train is in full flight.
