Oh no, I completely forgot about that addictive typing game! 😄
No chance for me right now anyway, I’d have to cut my nails first 😂
Luckily it last until the next monthly report! Seems like you are on the break since you posted earlier than usual. Have a good break! :D
The "I'll have to hold off because of suspected AI-Agent PR storms" line stuck with me. Building solo, I started flagging which dev signals are still unambiguously human. The closest I have right now is the velocity curve over a long enough window: humans plateau, refactor, then accelerate when something clicks. Agents keep a flat statistical pace because they don't really get tired or excited. That's not foolproof, but it's the most stable proxy I've found.
On a separate thread, the "is the writing also generated" question is something I keep wrestling with too. I started forcing myself to write the monthly post on TAMSIV in a single sitting from a notes doc, because the second I batch it later from git logs it loses all texture. The dev journal becomes auto-summarized and you can feel it. Curious if you've found a writing routine that survives the AI overlap.
Are you going to keep doing the monthly format anyway, or pivot to something more "snapshots when something matters"? I'd vote for keeping the monthly. The cadence is part of why your series works.
Thanks! I am planning on keeping it a monthly format like always. It helps me keep track of things of what I accomplished and the goals for next month. It is also maybe helpful for others as well and maybe even motivate them to start something too! Thanks again!
I got movesssssssss. Maybe, I can do better than him. Another month another mention. I think I'm on a streak now. Thank you for the mention and I'm glad you liked it. I'm thinking of moving into SpaceEstate now got bored with being a Dev 😝.
Keep up the good work. Awesome Monthly Report. Congrats on being a tag moderator. What's the role of a tag moderator on here. I've never been one and how was your virtual coffee experience. I'll joining soon. Just the timings don't match.
No problem lol. Keep it up on posting :)
The Tag Moderator is basically what you think. I moderate posts under the #discuss tag. I have the ability to add/remove the #discuss tag on a post as well if I feel like if it needs to (which is rare). Note that I can't add/remove any other tags other than the one I moderate.
Can't wait to see you in Virtual Coffee! I know @javz recently join, so it was exciting to see and a surprised in this small world XD
Will respond to your email in a bit. Thanks for reading and coming by :D
Love the feature! I never knew I had those dance moves in me :D
Thanks Julien! You were definitely making moves like no other!
monthly recaps feel pointless until you're a few in and realize you've built a personal changelog. what prompted you to start doing them?
Hey Mykola! I started doing them since I want to start something consistent. I realized I barely get anything done because of how I just "wing it" to things that came to mind. Even with a planner I currently have, it doesn't motivate me since no one will see my progress and provide feedback on what I need to to, which was one of the big issues I have. Having it organized in one place allows me to reevaluate myself each month and knowing what I really need to do. Doing a monthly recap allows me to not only demonstrate the accomplishments I made, but also could motivate others to do the same as well.
Consistency is key and it's always pointless if you decide to give up really early. I am planning on keep doing Monthly Reports based on the benefits I mentioned. It's also good for my mental health as well since it allows me to think positively instead of worrying on if I am good enough for DEV.
Thanks Mykola! Hope this makes sense. Let me know if anything else :)
yeah the public part is doing the heavy lifting. a planner can't judge you but even 2 readers will.
<3 and i can read a month in minutes, thank you!
No problem. Thanks for reading :D
Missed the WPM challenge
